At Quick Trigger Kennels, we take great pride in the puppies we produce, ensuring that they are not only beautiful but also healthy, well-socialized, and ready to excel in any role they are given. Whether you’re looking for a top-tier hunting companion, a competition dog, or simply a loyal family pet, our puppies are raised to meet the highest standards. We are dedicated to providing our customers with puppies that are the perfect fit for their families and their needs.
Our breeding program is focused on producing healthy, intelligent, and trainable dogs, with an emphasis on raising puppies that excel in performance and make wonderful family companions. From the moment they are born, we provide our puppies with the best care, ensuring they are well-prepared to transition smoothly into their new homes. Here is an in-depth look at what you can expect when you adopt a puppy from Quick Trigger Kennels.

Whelping and Early Life
All of our puppies are whelped and raised in our home, with designated whelping, play, and nighttime areas. The whelping room is temperature-controlled to maintain 80°F for the first two weeks. We provide high-quality nutrition, including goat’s milk, fish oil, excellent puppy/dam food, and prebiotics, along with specialized equipment like vet fleece, pig rails, whelping pens, heating pads, towel warmers, incubators, oxygenator, ultrasound machine and a laser.
Our dedicated staff, who we consider family, cares for the puppies 24/7, supporting everything from breeding to training. We allow dams to stay with their puppies until eight weeks, ensuring proper maternal bonding and temperament development. Research shows early separation can lead to behavioral issues, making the full eight weeks critical for a well-adjusted puppy.
Each puppy is raised with:
Exposure to a variety of environments
Puppies are gently exposed to different sights, sounds, and experiences to ensure they become confident and adaptable dogs, whether in a busy household, in the field, or at a competition.
Socialization with children and other animals
All of our puppies are socialized with children, other dogs, and pets, ensuring they are comfortable in a variety of social settings and are well-mannered when interacting with others.
Positive interactions
From day one, we begin socializing them by holding them multiple times a day to ensure that human touch is a positive experience. We gently touch their face, ears, back, belly, tail, and paws, fostering trust and affection. This early interaction lays the foundation for a strong, positive relationship with humans.
Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS): This method, developed by the U.S. Military, uses mild, controlled stimuli during the critical developmental period of days 3-16 to enhance neurological development. This process has been shown to improve the puppy’s cardiovascular system, immune system, stress tolerance, and overall performance.
Early Scent Introduction (ESI): We introduce our puppies to specific scents from an early age, helping them develop their scent detection abilities. This early training is especially beneficial for puppies that will eventually pursue careers as hunting dogs, service dogs, or detection dogs.
Early Training
Our puppies receive a strong training foundation from the start, using the Puppy Culture and Empowered Breeder Program. We begin early to ensure they are confident, well-mannered, and adaptable. Puppies experience a variety of toys, textures, objects, and environments, helping them adapt to new situations and surfaces. We introduce items like tunnels, tactile objects, brain games, noise makers, and climbing obstacles to foster exploration and positive experiences, all while being mindful of their fear periods.
Starting at three days old, each puppy attends puppy school, learning ENS/ESI exercises, body handling, potty training, crate training, and basic commands (sit, stay, heel).
Sound Conditioning: From a young age, we introduce puppies to common household and outdoor sounds, such as doorbells, vacuum cleaners, car engines, and wildlife sounds. This exposure helps prevent sound sensitivity and prepares the puppies for real-world scenarios they may encounter in the future.
Basic Potty Training: We start the potty training process early, ensuring that our puppies learn where to go to the bathroom and begin understanding basic house rules. We use a consistent schedule and positive reinforcement to set them up for success in their new homes.
Socialization
Early socialization is key to developing a well-balanced dog. Our puppies interact daily with adults, children, and other animals. Depending on the weather and season, they are also introduced to the outdoors in a safe, supervised area. Daily handling includes inspecting their fur, ears, paws, and body, with grooming starting early. By four weeks, puppies enjoy their first bath—a “Puppy Spa Day.”
Our puppies are raised in a clean, sanitized environment, with veterinary-grade cleaning supplies used twice daily. For safety, visitors are required to wear sanitized QTK puppy handling clothing.

Temperament
Around 6-7 weeks, we perform a temperament evaluation to assess traits like curiosity, dominance, and energy levels. This helps us match each puppy with the right home. While temperament evaluations are helpful, training and socialization play a crucial role in shaping adult behavior. We encourage all new owners to continue with programs like Puppy Culture or Empowered Puppy to build on the foundation we've provided.
We conduct video evaluations of puppies’ temperament and personality through activities like obstacle courses, scent work, and retrieving trials. These are shared with potential owners to help them make an informed decision. Puppy selection is based on the puppies' clearance by the vet and temperament videos.
As breeders, we take the placement process seriously, carefully matching each puppy to a home based on lifestyle and expectations (e.g., hunting, service work, or family pet). We conduct interviews with potential owners to ensure the best match. Clients are encouraged to ask for additional videos or live streams to aid in their decision.
Throughout the puppies' lives, we provide regular updates through photos, videos, and social media (what we call "Puppy Spam"!), so owners can track their puppy’s growth and progress.

Health and Wellness
At Quick Trigger Kennels, the health and well-being of our puppies is our top priority. Each puppy is vet-checked at 6 weeks, dewormed at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks, and receives their first round of vaccinations (DHPP: Canine Distemper, Adenovirus, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus). We also microchip each puppy for identification and provide a 26-month health guarantee covering hips and eyes.
Our breeding dogs undergo genetic screening for common Labrador-related diseases, ensuring our puppies are free from inheritable conditions and ready to thrive in their new homes.
